Key Import Just Got a Major Upgrade – Faster, Smarter, and Finally Reliable

    🧩 Previous Challenges

Customers using Tools Supercom to download AES-Keys from the Sonexa Device Key Exchange Service faced the following limitations:

    • Blocked by System Limits: Key downloads were restricted by a 60-second timeout and a hard cap of 10,000 keys per request. In practice, one or both of these limits were frequently exceeded, preventing users from downloading all their keys.
Worse still, there was no way to split downloads into smaller batches, making large imports virtually impossible.
    • Project-Specific Imports Unreliable: When importing keys for a specific project, the entire process would fail if even one device was missing or not found in the database. As a result, project-based imports rarely worked, since problematic devices were common.
    ✅ What’s New
    • No More Limits – Fast, Scalable Key Downloads
We’ve removed the previous restrictions. There’s no longer any timeout or key count limit, and the download speed has been significantly improved. You can now import all your keys in one go, reliably and efficiently—no workarounds needed.
    • Project-Based Imports with Partial Success & Full Transparency
Importing keys by project is now robust and user-friendly. The system will:
      • Import all available keys, even if some devices are missing
      • Show a detailed summary of which keys could not be retrieved
This ensures project imports are no longer blocked by single-device issues and gives users clear visibility into any gaps.
  • Affected product: Supercal 7x9.

Improvement: Added the warning message for Supercal 7x9 format in storage mode on Tools Supercom Android.
Unlike Tools Supercom Windows, Tools Supercom Android was missing this warning; it has now been implemented to ensure functional consistency across platforms.

  • Affected product: Tools Supercom.

    Improvement:

We have updated and improved the translations in Tools Supercom for the following languages: English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. This update ensures a more consistent and accurate user experience across all supported languages.

  • Affected product: ToolsSupercom.

Maintenance: We have upgraded the API version to ensure better compatibility with the latest Android versions.

    Important Changes:

    • Due to this update, you will need to re-enter your license key.
    • You must also re-select the folder containing your routes (folder “Supercom/roads”) in order to grant the necessary access permissions.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

  • Affected product: ToolsSupercom.

Bug fixed: Resolved an issue in Tools Supercom Android where reading OMS routes could unexpectedly stop, and devices already read were not saved to the resulting XML file.
The reading process is now reliable, and all successfully read devices are correctly written to the XML.

  • Affected product: ToolsSupercom.

Bug fixed: On Tools Supercom Android, backups were previously saved in a protected internal storage area due to Android’s storage restrictions, making them inaccessible and unusable.

This issue has now been resolved. Backups are now stored in an accessible location, ensuring they can be retrieved and used as intended.

  • Affected product: WECOUNT and WECOUNT-S (WEH).

Bug fixed: Resolved an issue in Tools Supercom Android where the warning status byte was not displayed at the highest structure level of roads for WECOUNT and WECOUNT-S devices.
The warning status byte is now correctly shown, improving visibility and monitoring of these devices.

  • Affected product: Supercom 583, Supercom W1-R.

Bug fixed: When creating a parameterization task for a Supercom 583 device, the initial value was incorrectly displayed as "NaN" instead of the expected "unchanged". This issue also occurred when parameterizing a Supercom W1-R.

Additionally, executing this parameterization task on a Supercom 583 device resulted in an error: the current value in the device was overwritten with 0 instead of remaining unchanged.

  • Affected product: Tools Supercom.

Maintenance: Important Update for Key Download Users
An update is required for users utilizing key downloads from the Sonexa Key Exchange Service. A mandatory URL change will occur on 18.11.2024, and the key download functionality will no longer work with Tools Supercom versions lower than 3.3.1.

    • Key Download Compatibility:
      • Tools Supercom versions 3.3.1 or higher will automatically support the new URL. No additional actions are required from users after upgrading.
      • Older versions (below 3.3.1) will lose key download functionality after 18.11.2024.

Please update to Tools Supercom version 3.3.1 before 18.11.2024 to ensure uninterrupted access to the Sonexa Key Exchange Service.
